Belle Isle Boathouse Proposal
CLub and Restaurant
Overview
The Belle Isle Boathouse currently acts as the home to the Detroit Crew team, as well as a venue space. The Belle Isle Boathouse Social Club proposes the new facility be made into an upscale restaurant and nightclub, to engage young people and promote business on Belle Isle in a safe and controlled environment.
The monochromatic color scheme aesthetically enhances an exploration of different realms experienced within a nightclub, while its highly technical purpose proposes a unique method for the user to navigate the space. This theory neutralizes color in order to oblige users to rely on alternative way-finding techniques, such as acoustic control, lighting and flooring changes.
