Overview

While utilizing the format of MIX Magazine ©, Legacy: A Totem of Remembrance highlights a recent increase in the Death Positivity Movement; which focuses on the idea of reframing the stigma of death as a universal truth, and researching different cultures' traditions in reaction to passing on. This color trend report restructures the idea of death from a heavy and ominous subject into one that focuses on death as a legacy and achievement that we all will eventually earn. 

Color, material, finish and pattern are used as physical representations to express all of life’s stages, including its end.

 ‘Students were asked to analyze the structure and page organization of MIX Magazine © as a case study to learn how to connect an idea, a non-tangible concept, to a physical color report that references color and its ability to make connections between emotions, values and ideas. 

Students were asked to conduct independent research to support their idea, and then translate the idea to their original creative content - expressed through writings and visuals in a forward-thinking color report using the format and graphic layout of Mix Magazine ©. The reports were for education use only and were assessed for their creative content not for the organization. Students were required to cite the use of Mix Magazine as a case study.'
